OACP Researching Priority Issues

The OACP has launched a new research project entitled Identifying Community Public Safety Priorities for Ontario.  The primary objective of the project is to develop a report for our Board of Directors which will identify current policing priorities.  The OACP is always asked by the main political parties, other stakeholders, and media what are the top community safety and law enforcement issues in the lead-up to a Provincial election.  

The project will seek to demonstrate the “big picture” of policing issues/needs based on an analysis of the most recent public opinion surveys/environmental scans conducted by Ontario police services in the jurisdictions they police.  The project is overseen by Joe Couto, OACP Director of Government Relations and Communications and Mia Hershkowitz, a Masters student at Ryerson University currently engaged in a placement with the OACP.  For more information, please contact Mia at
