WHEREAS the Police Services Act R.S.O. 1990 was last amended in December 1998 with Regulations following; and

WHEREAS there have been areas of the Act and Regulations that have raised concerns with the Ontario Association of Chief?s of Police that may require amendment and clarification to improve policing services to the people of Ontario.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police empowers the Legislative Committee to conduct a review of the Police Services Act by way of canvassing OACP Committees, Zones, and Police Services to identify areas of concern with the Police Services Act and report their findings, recommendations, and rationale to the Board.
