WHY YOUR SERVICE NEEDS EXPERTS
In June 2002 Bill C-15A received Royal Assent. This Bill added section 657.3 to the Criminal Code. Paraphrased this section requires notice be given 30 days prior to trial if expert testimony will be called.
All police services have experienced a large growth in requests for expert evidence from drug investigators. Routinely drug and gang cases require expert opinions to secure convictions.
This conference is geared for officers new to the expert field as well as seasoned experts. Training delivered at the conference will provide the registrant the tools they require to build their expertise and to remain current with today’s issues.

CURRICULUM
The conference will feature experts in their respective fields from across the country. Members of the judiciary will also be part of the learning experience giving the registrant instruction on how to present their opinions effectively to the Court. A mock trial scenario will demonstrate the qualities officers require to get qualified and present their evidence in a professional and effective manner.
CERTIFICATION
This seminar can be included in the registrants Curriculum Vitae. Attendance will be taken during the course of the presentations. Registrants will be required to attend all presentations.
